This program is about Saving the endangered historic homes in the
neighborhoods targeted by the NVCDC. This program will achieve its
aims by acquiring these properties, or entering into restoration agreements
with resident owners in these communities. This is a volunteer program
and relies on donations of time, expertise, materials and financial support
of people dedicated to the preservation of the historic homes and
neighborhoods of the communities in the Steel Valley. This is the central
program of the NVCDC. This effort is the anchor to saving the fabric and
character of these neighborhoods, and preserving their historic character
in the aim of making them more livable and sustainable communities.
This program will lead to educational opportunities with hands-on
application in the rehabilitation and maintenance of historic homes in the
valley, and appreciation for the historic resources in our communities.
